Teka teki Matematika (1)



Suatu hari sebuah keluarga yang terdiri dari 2 Bapak dan 2 Anak duduk bersama untuk sarapan pagi. Menu hari ini disamping sandwich panggang dan segelas kopi yaitu telur. Pada kenyataannya, barangkali unik juga, secara keseluruhan mereka makan 3 telur (masing-masing mendapat bagian 1 telur). Teka-tekinya, bagaimana ini bisa terjadi?

Srigala, Kambing dan Sayuran



Ini adalah sebuah kisah klasik, konon katanya berasal dari Rusia yang mana untuk menyelesaikannya memerlukan sedikit logika Matematika. Begini nih ceritanya...

Seekor srigala, kambing dan sayuran harus dipindahkan oleh seorang nelayan dari pulau Turana ke pulau Turini. Srigala tentu ingin memangsa kambing dan kambing pun ingin memakan sayuran. Oleh karena itu baik srigala-kambing maupun kambing-sayuran tidak boleh ditinggalkan kecuali dalam pengawasan sang nelayan. Sayangnya kapal milik nelayan tersebut hanya bisa untuk mengangkut dirinya dan salah satu dari srigala, kambing atau sayuran. Bagaimana strategi yang harus dipilih oleh sang nelayan untuk menyeberangkan srigala, kambing dan sayuran dari pulau Turana ke pulau Turini sedemikian sehingga sampai dengan selamat alias tetap utuh?

Saya quote jawabannya beliau: "pertama nelayan membawa kambing kesebearang, trus balik ambil sayur.sampai diseberang nelayan menukar kambing dengan sayur, sayur ditinggal dan kambing dibawa balik ke tempat asal.sampai di tempat asal kambing ditukar dengan srigala, dan srigala diangkut ke seberang menemui sayur.setelah itu nelayan balik ke tempat asal untuk ambil kambing".

Zero is equal to one

Dear readers,

Zero is one of interesting number. It plays a central role in mathematics as the additive identity of the integers, real numbers, and many other algebraic structures. It is also a number which quantifies a count or an amount of null size; that is, if the number of your sisters is zero, that means the same thing as having no sisters, and if something has a weight of zero, it has no weight. If the difference between the number of pieces in two piles is zero, it means the two piles have an equal number of pieces.

So we can explore about this number as much as we want, in particularly in its uniqueness. Believe or not believe, using simple trick we can show that "zero is equal to one". Wow...really....Lets prove together

Mathematics game "Hanoi Tower"

Hanoi Tower was invented by the French mathematician Edouard Lucas in 1883. It is a kind of puzzle which consists of three pegs (link ones, middle ones and right ones), and a number of disks of different sizes which can slide onto any peg. The puzzle starts with the disks neatly stacked in order of size on one peg, the smallest at the top, thus making a conical shape.
The objective of the puzzle is to move the entire stack to right peg ones ordered, obeying the following rules:
* Only one disk may be moved at a time.
* Each move consists of taking the upper disk from one of the pegs and sliding it onto
another peg, on top of the other disks that may already be present on that peg.
* No disk may be placed on top of a smaller disk.

Tips: This game need patient and strategy of player. If the number of disks are less equal 6 its easy, but if more than 6 it will look complicated. Don't give up until you can solve it.

Mathematics game "Sudoku Japan"

The first Mathematics game which interesting for me is Sudoku. By the way, Sudoku taken from Japanese words "Suji wa dokushin ni kagiru", meaning "the numbers must be single" or "the numbers must occur only once". This game categorized to logic puzzle based on number placement. How to play this game? it's very simple.
Each Sudoku is made of 81 cells, divided into 9 rows, 9 columns, and 9 boxes. The boxes are 3 cells by 3 cells, and are marked off by the thicker lines. Some of the cells contain a digit, 1 through 9. The object is to fill in the empty cells so that the digits 1 through 9 appear:
• exactly once in each row
• exactly once in each column
• exactly once in each 3 x 3 box
